WhatsApp Is Finally Getting a Dark Mode

WhatsApp is bringing the dark mode feature in its latest WhatsApp Beta update. If you want to check whether you have the feature enabled on your copy of the app, head over to WhatsApp Settings Chats and look for a new "Theme" option.

After a long wait, WhatsApp dark mode is finally here. However, we expect the company to roll out dark mode for everyone in the coming weeks, at least for the Android users. Apart from this, there is also the System Default option, that is available for smartphones using the latest Android 10 OS and have enabled Dark mode for their phone, system-wise.

WABetaInfo spotted a dark mode in the latest WhatsApp beta update (2.20.13) pushed to the Play Store, and we're able to confirm that it is indeed available for us.

The report suggests that when the dark theme is enabled, you will see dark green colour bubbles in the chat box and the backdrop is likely to be black. Comment in the section below if you have more queries on the same and stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more similar news and updates. Especially, the theme option offers three feature options such as Light Theme, Dark Theme, & System Default Theme.

Once that's done, reopen the app, tap "Settings" and select "Chats".

Dark mode is now available only for WhatsApp beta users.

The Facebook-owned firm often release updates for one platform before the other and it could be that Android owners are the lucky ones when it comes to Dark Mode.

There is another option for people on Android 9 or older versions. If I choose light theme from the general settings, WhatsApp will go automatically with my general theme settings.
