Realme 5 series smartphones with quad cameras will arrive on August 20

Last week, Realme held a press conference to show off prototype devices of the quad-camera handset as well as the 64MP camera (allegedly called Realme X Pro) in New Delhi. The first device from the Realme 5 series, will be the Realme 5 Pro and will be launched on August 20. In addition to the 48MP primary snapper, the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will also include an ultra-wide lens with a 119° field-of-view, a super macro lens with a 4cm focal-length, and a depth sensor for portrait shots.

The Snapdragon 712 is only a slight upgrade in processing power as compared to the Snapdragon 710 in it's predecessor, the Realme 3 Pro. The Realme 64-megapixel camera smartphone will touch base in India before Diwali, which means before October 27.

"Three Realme series devices - Realme series, Realme Pro series, and Realme X series - will come with the quad-camera setup", he had said.

Other specs are yet to be revealed, but knowing how Realme teases its devices little by little, we expect to know more in the next 8 days, leading to the announcement. The Realme 5 will also be launched along with the side the Realme 5 Pro on August 20. The company recently launched two smartphones in the country, a mid-range flagship: Realme X and another budget flagship, toned-down Realme 3 model: Realme 3i. Then there will be an ultra-wide sensor, a SuperMacro lens for closeup shots and one for taking Portrait shots, which will be the Depth sensor.

Similarly, the Realme 5 is also expected to be the first smartphone to launch with the RealmeOS.

According to the company, the upcoming primary image sensors on Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will be able to capture some breathtaking low-light pictures.

Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, has spilled beans over the camera and chipset details. Now, specifications of the "Pro" variant have been leaked ahead of August 20 India launch. The Realme 5 that is expected to be priced under Rs. 10,000 is unlikely to feature the 64-megapixel lens.
