Georgia baker mistakes 'Moana' birthday cake request for 'marijuana'

A Georgia mom says her thick accent may be to blame for a birthday cake mix-up at a local Milledgeville Dairy Queen.

"Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana", Ms Davis wrote.

The baker reportedly misheard the mother and decorated Kensli's cake with a cannabis leaf and a "My Little Pony" character that appeared to be stoned and smoking a joint. She jokingly said that she is not planning to publicly shame anyone by taking names.

The Facebook post was quick to go viral and has received more than 11,000 shares and over 10,000 likes.

Though the dessert wasn't what she expected, Davis wrote that the "ice cream cake was still good".

"So my mama called and ordered me a cake telling them how much I loved Moana", she wrote.

Meanwhile, this isn't the first cake blunder we've seen in months.

A seemingly-innocent request for a Disney-themed birthday cake has backfired spectacularly.

Danielle Adams spent five hours trying to make a cake for Olivia, 14, which was similar to one she saw in a supermarket.

Ms Davis later told USA news outlet WMAZ she believed the bakery misunderstood her mum because of her accent.

"We'd gone out for a birthday meal to a restaurant, and there were 14 of us". I just won't get a design at all.
