Bright orange bird turns out to be seagull covered in curry

According to a Facebook post from the Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Haddenham, England, several Good Samaritans recently called the facility "to say they had picked up an orange bird", after noticing the animal struggling on the side of a major road.

Sharing pictures of the brightly coloured bird to Facebook on Tuesday last week, Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire, UK, described the rescue as "one of the strangest casualty circumstances we have seen in a while!"

"We had no idea what to expect - and would never have guessed this!" the hospital wrote. A vet clinic in the United Kingdom has had a bit of a laugh, after a brightly coloured exotic bird brought in, turned out to just be a seagull covered in curry.

The hospital dubbed the bird "Vinny" after Vindaloo curry and got to work scrubbing his feathers clean.

The thick orange coating prevented the bird from flying.

"He is now looking much better and should be able to go for release very soon". The bird was a herring gull that had found itself in a messy (and tasty) predicament. Somewhere, somehow, somebody is going to figure out that we don't know what we're doing, and because the internet never forgets, ne'er shall we live it down.

Now that he's been thoroughly scrubbed and returned to his natural white coloring, Vinny will soon be ready to fly free, but hopefully not into anymore curry dishes.

Strangely enough, this isn't the first time something like this happened! The gull had been scavenging for food when it fell into a waste Value-Added Tax of curry at a factory.
